How to Use

1. Hold the Power button and select Switch to Desktop.
2. Download and rename the file to deck_startup.webm.
3. Copy the file to ~/.steam/root/config/uioverrides/movies/ (~ is shorthand for /home/deck).

Things to Note

• If you're using Dolphin (the file browser), you need to enable the Show Hidden Files option under the menu button at the top right to see the .steam folder.
• You will most likely need to create the uioverrides and the movies folders yourself.

Enable Longer Boot Videos

Boot videos are limited to 10 seconds by default, but there is a workaround, though you will most likely need to reapply it anytime your Steam Deck is updated. The following instructions must be done in Desktop Mode.

1. Download Notepadqq from the Discover app.
2. Navigate to ~/.local/share/Steam/steamui/ using Dolphin.
3. Open library.js with Notepadqq
4. Find (s,1e4,[]) in the file and replace 1e4 (10 seconds) with 2e4 (20 seconds), or however long you need.
